Copyright office head denounces “big mistake” of extending copyright
The head of the US copyright office has accused Congress of making a mistake by extending the length of copyright in America, calling the term ‘too long,’ and saying that Congress made a ‘big mistake.’
The remarkable admission came at the tail end of an event held at the UNC Law School on November 2, 2005, when Mary-Beth Peters, the Register of Copyrights, and a panel of copyright scholars, lawyers and bureaucrats convened to deliberate copyright in public.

Should we repeat the process of “One Guitar”? I could start a new album in the LL that would contain working mixes – not final mixes – of tracks for the next band album, tentatively called “Up Close”. Or we can wait for the whole album to be done and release the music all at once.

Peru’s glacier vanishing, scientists warn
Ohio State glaciologist Lonnie Thompson and a team of scientists said they have found evidence the Qori Kalis glacier of the Quelccaya ice cap in the Peruvian Andes could lose half its mass in 12 months and could be gone five years from now.
