Today’s download is an encore from the 2001 tour with Luna Negra XL v3. Most of the tour happened after 9/11 and we decided to start our encores with America the Beautiful. It was great to experience how different audiences reacted to the melody. Some people wept, some hollered in appreciation, and at one concert every single person stood up and sang along beautifully.
We followed America the Beautiful with a long version of Snakecharmer (The Hours Between Night + Day and The Santa Fe Sessions). At the end of the song we left the stage one after another. I left first after an electric guitar solo, then the horn players soloed and left etc.

Tickets for our concert at the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe on June 4th will go on sale next Tuesday, April 14th. The concert is a benefit for a local school. Tickets will range from $20 to $65. For $65 you will get one of the best seats in the house plus access to an after-show-party with the whole band (((and, more importantly finger-foods and wine))).
We want to do a special home-town show and will be talking to certain horn players about joining us – especially since the planned Luna Negra XL show in December was cancelled.
