Ran across a greeting card today that had the quote from your Vegas trip, “Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?”
Turns out the quote is from A. A. Milne, author of the Winnie-the-Pooh books.
Didn’t remember seeing the origin in your posting, so thought I would share.

Thanks Robin. I preferred the reality in which an old American woman made a sarcastic statement to the one in which a British author writes a story for children… :)
