I had a list of things to do today and this wasn’t on it. At all. Somehow I found myself looking at video clips I recorded in 1991. Why don’t I edit this now? What? Now? Well, that’s how I spent the next few hours, quite happily. A trip down memory lane. It was an interesting year. There are clips from us working on Solo Para Ti, in Santa Barbara, a visit by Airto Moreira, the session with Carlos Santana, a trip to Mexico I had forgotten about, some touring clips – mostly driving, driving, driving – Tokyo with Yohji Yamamoto, John Lurie, Dennis Hopper, John Cale, Charles Lloyd, and many more… and more touring. Odd moments. A year compressed into just under 23′. Every smartphone records better video now. I also realize that I should have recorded way more video than I did.
