It must be Grammy season again, because I am getting emails from musicians asking me to vote for an album or song of theirs that I have never heard of. Save yourself the effort, because I am not a member of the Recording Academy. I won’t listen to your music or vote.

I didn’t ask people to vote for me, even when my albums were nominated. Ah, you might say, perhaps that’s why my albums never won. It’s possible, it’s likely, but I don’t want to be part of something that is built on popularity and social media prowess, rather than the quality of the item produced.
