Rough day. My dog Arko is not doing well, but the vet came and gave him another shot. I think we are talking weeks, not even months. He spends most of his day in a windowless room (I don’t know why he keeps going in there) and has lost the use of one of his hindlegs.
Then I cancelled the release of Winter Rose through 33rd Street, because of some accounting issues we are having regarding La Semana. Best case scenario: the issues are resolved within a couple of weeks and the CD will be released through 33rd Street and it is biz as usual. Worst case: we press a few thousand CDs for sale during the tour in November and from our web site. The album will of course also be available from iTunes and our own ListeningLounge.
I just came back from a lunch meeting with Canton, who demonstrated the new ListeningLounge to me. We had lunch at Annapurna, which features ayurvedic vegetarian food and free Wi-Fi. It’s a new favorite! I had a big smile when our user interface gave me the option of downloading four types of mp3 files – 128kbps, 192kbps, 256kbps, 320kbps – or an AIF file (CD Quality). We will incorporate the Tag concept, but they will be a dropdown choice, so people who don’t want to deal with them, don’t have to even see them. I think Tags will be a very convenient way to find, say every song that I played electric guitar on, or where I played an electric guitar solo, or every song that Jon played acoustic bass on.
This looks like a very interesting book: The Translucent Revolution: How People Just Like You are Waking Up and Changing the World
I’m so sorry about Arko. It’s good that you and Kelly are home now. I’m sure it helps him, and I know it’s where you want to be.
I feel you. It’s like they say, whether there is a heaven or not, that’s where dogs go.
I love your music, Ottmar
i also wrote the Translucent Revolution, which you mentioned
If you end up reading it, drop me a line to tell me what you think
