The DST transducer only picks up the sound of the drum that it is attached to – for the greatest isolation from other drums and instruments and for a greater focus of the drums true tone. Also there are no positioning or feedback problems that are normally associated with conventional microphones. The DST will work with any wood or metal drum shell.
