Santa Barbara: we stay in the same little motel near the beach that we always stayed in… since 1991… some familiarity during these tours is very welcome… we know our way around this town pretty well, since we recorded 4 albums in Santa Barbara from Poets + Angels in 1990 to The Hours between Night + Day in 1993… we know the coffeehouses and we know the bike trails – on the this tour we carry 4 mountain bikes on our bus!

The Hilton casino in Reno, Nevada….I’m in a suite we have dubbed the Sammy suite, “cause it’s not big enough to be the Frankie suite, and it has that early sixties look…downstairs: the sound of the one-armed bandits, the sound of coins, the sound of old folks coughing… an old man sitting in front of 2 slot machines, playing them both at the same time…he’s got three little buckets in front of him: nickels, dimes and quarters…he wins and he loses while eating lunch…
