A music project designed to mirror the way our brains work has been named winner of the New Music Award and its Â£50,000 prize money.
The Fragmented Orchestra’s idea uses recording units set up at 24 sites across the UK to capture their sounds.
So, not only do musicians have a hard time making a living from their recordings, they can’t win a new music prize unless it’s a brainy project involving NO (traditional) instruments. Are musicians, and by that I mean people who study and play a traditional musical instrument, a dying breed?
