The Scent of Light

Did I mention that Matthew phoned in a beautiful cello performance for one of the tracks, a piece in which the Tangos and the Funk meet? Or in LR’s words:

ah yes, Ottmar, caught you… James Brown run through the flamenco laundromat. It’s cool. Has the funk shadow I know you like to run behind your flamenco at times.

Ha! What’s a guy to do whose first concert experience was Earth, Wind & Fire and who plays a Flamenco guitar, eh? Try to sit still when you hear that one! We should make a video of me handing headphones to random pedestrians on a street to observe their reaction…

(By phoned in I mean of course that he played his cello somewhere in Cali and ftp-ed the performance to me…)

That’s fascinating … how does his performance sync with yours, or do you perform live to his, or …

This sounds like an amazing collaboration.
Will be in my cd tray for months!!!!!
One of my first gigs was Rose Royce – they were
supremely funky in a live setting.
