The first day of a new year. Like making the first mark on a fresh canvas, or recording the first note for a new album. I wake up, make tea and go through mail that has piled up. One of the letters is from the ICT, the International Campaign for Tibet. They are facing a great opportunity. The German chancellor Angela Merkel met with the Dalai Lama in Berlin in September, in October the Dalai Lama received the Congressional Gold Medal in Washington, D.C.
Add to this that the eyes of the world will be on China because of the Olympic Games in polluted Beijing next Summer, and you will see that 2008 may become a very important year for Tibet.
I know, I should have posted this in December for the year-end-donators, but maybe you will join me now in giving to the ICT.
