Drove from Santa Fe to Avon, Colorado, on Friday. 285 North to 24 West to 6 West. Lovely road. Much nicer than the Interstate and almost 200 miles shorter. Left Santa Fe shortly before 8AM and arrived in Avon a little after 2PM.

We heard that it was supposed to snow for three days, starting at 4AM on Sunday morning, and decided to leave right after the concert. The venue provided us with three cans of Red Bull and we got on our way a little before 10PM on Saturday. The full moon was our companion and the landscape bathed in its light was wondrous. The lowest temperature we encountered was -26º F. One gas pump refused to work in those conditions, but we found a working pump a few miles later… Home at 5AM.
