ok, i admit that i only watched 3 minutes of the grammy’s. | moby.com
i was there one year and i remember very distinctly the person who’d won ‘best polka record’ yelling ‘polka forever!!’ as a part of his acceptance speech. the 20 or 30 people in the staples center clapped perfunctorily. unfortunately the sound of 20 people clapping in a space designed to hold 18,000 is kind of depressing.
I didn’t watch any of it. Barrett attended. He wants to work within the music biz to champion music that he feels should be supported. I think that’s great and admire it, while preferring to sit here and play guitar.
i don’t have a television now but there was a time in my life when i did watch those things… i enjoy other things now…
i apologize for all the posts today… don’t want to be the only one in the “room”
talking, but we are having a blizzard here in Maine… i will pipe down now…
Great post.
The grammy’s was an absolute joke. Immediately after an ok performance by the The Police, the show was miserable. I can not believe I watched a full hour before turning it off…
Missed it – had a gig! But, I did check out the ripped posts of the Police on You Tube (back to the DRM topic, maybe?) – they still got it, and then some!
