AN INTERVIEW WITH OTTMAR LIEBERT: A ZEN FLAMENCO CHRISTMAS
The season goes southwestern. Ottmar Liebert, the creator of Nouveau Flamenco guitar is a disciple of Zen Buddhism and lives in Sante Fe, but on his CD called Winter Rose, the guitarist evokes a trancy and hypnotic seasonal meditation. Mixing a couple of Christmas carols, some classical works by Fauré and Tchaikovsky and a collection of originals, Liebert conjures up a Christmas that is mystical and atmospheric. Ottmar Liebert talks about his seasonal designs.

SONIC SEASONINGS 2006 Live Concerts for Christmas
Nouveau Flamenco pioneer Ottmar Liebert brings his Luna Negra ensemble in, accompanied by a string quartet for a set of original music and inventive versions of carols found on his CD, Winter Rose.
The way you have combined Carols with your own melodies that go so well with each makes all your Christmas albums perfect, and for all year round. I love “Michelle” and well.. all the rest. That’s just the first one that comes to my mind right now since it’s playing right now: )
Thank you for telling us about an interview we may be able to experience.
Will you be posting a link to the event? Do you know what time it will be airing? Thanks
Looking forward to it :)
I will look forward to it! Unfortunately I can’t get a radio broadcast here, but will be able to listen via Internet. Are the broadcasts really going to be live? If so, where are the performances and will there be an audience?
PS Very much enjoying listening to Winter Rose again!
