Spoke to Rahim today – more on Rahim HERE, HERE and HERE.
We made plans to get together during the first week of April. I’ll make lunch and then we’ll make some music. We talked about some musical ideas and I invited Rahim to add his music to our ListeningLounge. We have to work our some details, but I am hoping to be able to add The Second Baghdad and Friendship: Oud & Sadaqa Quartet sometime in April. That would be fantastic! It’s what the LL is about – making hybrid music without borders available to people everywhere.
HERE is a link to some Press Clips and reviews of Rahim AlHaj’s work.
That’s exciting news, the collaboration as well as that Rahim’s music might be added to the LL. Music by the Anouar Brahem Trio is easy to get, Munir Bashir is slightly more difficult (but I found some discs in an Arab house in Córdoba) but Rahim is the most difficult (except for on his own web site, I have to admit). That’d be great to have some of his music downloadable in Liebert’s Lounge!!
Pfft. A bit of Arabic flair to the LL? Now I’m really getting excited!
This would be so, so cool…
