The End of Faith – Sam Harris
A brilliant book. The author identifies faith as the very possible end of civilization. I couldn’t put it down and read until 1:30AM. Highly recommended. The book also fits nicely with my recent thoughts regarding faith being something the brain does to create order, to file away questions. Did I say highly recommended? A must-read!

Free Play – Stephen Nachmanovitch
Steve Stephen recommended this book to me and it is a very good one. It is a book on making music and improvising, but it doesn’t list a single scale or chord as it is about the spirit of creativity rather than the mechanics of making music. Actually this book would be very useful to anybody who wants to play freely, whether you throw pots or draw or write.
