Saturday Morning

Last night we played the third and fourth of four sold out shows at the One World Theatre in Austin. Unfortunately we did not sell merchandise and CDs because the One World Theatre asked too high a percentage. Many artists simply raise their prices if the venue asks for more, but I don’t like to do that.

It is positive that the One World was THE ONLY venue of this tour that would not agree to a fair and reasonable percentage, but it is also disappointing, since the One World claims to be artist-friendly.

That said, we played well and enjoyed ourselves. During the second show’s Duende del Amor Davo played five and seven against the six Jon and I were laying down for his percussion solo. When the two rythms converged and “met” it was a great physical sensation. Very joyous! Fantastic.
