Robert Fripp’s Diary
I have noticed on this tour that, in an industrial wasteland, Starbucks is a blessing; in a civilised area, Starbucks is often an intrusion. This morning, I am happy to have a Starbucks nearby.
I second that. I also like this entry from Chicago:
A bad beginning-morning: the breakfast-place of my selection, two blocks from the hotel, featured slow service and drum & bass on its Noise Pollution Unit. My new noise-cancelling headphones broke, exposing me to the terror & horror of witless, arbitrary noise.
Noise Pollution Unit = Music System or Radio
