Oscar

Those of you who watched the Oscar broadcast probably remember that “Al Otro Lado Del Rio,” from The Motorcycle Diaries, won for Best Original Song. You probably suspected, and rightly so, that this was the first such award ever to go to a Spanish language composition. You probably didn’t notice that it was the first Oscar ever to be awarded to a Uruguayan national. And you probably couldn’t quite figure out why the guy who accepted the statue decided to sing the song in lieu of the usual shout-outs and thank-yous.

Right on Drexler! Didn’t watch the Oscar’s myself, but to me it sounds like a very legitimate gripe.
Thanks Ole.
