This will get a serious work-out when we are on tour: Google Maps. Now, please do Europe as well, and then the rest of the world. Just yesterday I was using a competitors site and was getting frustrated because I could not slide the map and the increments I was given were to large and moved the object of my search outside the viewing area…

I also heard a rumor that Blogger will soon support dates before 1999, which means I can get my posts from 1994 through 1998 back online.

Everything is white again. More snow. I can’t remember having this much snow in Santa Fe in one winter… not since I moved here in 1986… Might as well live in BC… Ah, Vancouver… one of my fave cities… I have had fleeting visions of living in a loft there, getting around on a Segway.

I had accumulated enough points on my Amex (they usually don’t have anything I want) that I ordered a free iPod Photo (60GB) and must say I love being able to store photos. Now I only need my iPod to show my dad new photos – works with NTSC and PAL TVs – and I can select a special musical playlist for our viewing entertainment. Since he lives in Austria now, a collection of Johann Strauss waltzes might be appropriate?

Sat in the local Zendo for the evening period yesterday. I like the formality of sitting in the Zendo instead of sitting at home. There is also something about sitting with other people. In general my view is very aquarian or as Jon said about me: You love humanity – it’s people you don’t like. Which is probably why my wise Roshi asked me to go to the local Zendo instead of practicing at home only… Found this about aquarians:

Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both types are strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to light which persuades them that they have been mistaken.

I especially like when they sum it all up in a few catchwords:

Aquarian Traits

Friendly and humanitarian

Honest and loyal

Original and inventive

Independent and intellectual

On the dark side….

Intractable and contrary

Perverse and unpredictable

Unemotional and detached

Actually… not bad… I say check to all of that.

Gotta practice guitar now. Jon and I are playing duets for a local benefit on Friday. It has been sold out for weeks and I better sound good… when you are bald you have to sound better, don’t you think? Can’t just toss the hair and look emotional…

The Sound Devices 722 is supposed to start shipping in a couple of weeks. Now I have to research microphones. I would like to find something that can double for field recordings of sound and record my guitar… preferably a stereo mic rather than using two mics…

My Gear Guy Eric suggests this stereo microphone, although two of these might be more versatile…

I can believe maybe most of those except for unemotional–La Luna happens to be playing just as I type this, so you’re not fooling me!! :)

“You love humanity – it’s people you don’t like.”

I’ve had the same thing said about me. Maybe I’m an Aquarian, not a Cancer.

Thank you for the two categories of Aquarius. My Aquarian/dragon father fell into category number 2.
Lucky Friday nite local Santa Fe audience….
