Music: Suites for Solo Cello – Janos Starker
I have been asked by some to update my recommendations page and include more musical suggestions. So, sometime this Spring we hope to unveil new pages of recommendations in the fields of music, books, film and other, complete with links and comments. It has been fun to go through my library and select items that I particularly enjoy. In some cases I will include items I did not enjoy, but which I find important. I think that some pieces of music/art/writing are like calcium tablets – not particular enjoyable, but very good for you. I will note those pieces and you can avoid the calcium if you like…
When I lent a friend my iPod, she commented that it was like taking a peak into a musician’s brain. It is in that spirit that the new recommendation pages will present some of the items I like.
