In return, about ten minutes later I noticed another bumble bee lying flat out on a drain pipe. I’ve read that if you ever see an exhausted bee, you should give them honey or sugary water to resuscitate them. I put some honey on a knife.. Bumble bee reacted immediately!
When I checked half an hour later, was gone.
Yay!
I don’t see many bees in my garden, so it’s mainly bumble bees doing all the work.

I remember watching Gary, who engineered all of our albums from Opium until Little Wing, take bees into his hand, on cold Santa Fe mornings, and warming them up with his breath. They flew away and never stung him.
I’ve actually done this. One morning I noticed a bee hanging out on one of my window screens. He was still there an hour later. I had read about the honey thing, so put a little honey on the screen next to the bee. He immediately began eating and about 10 minutes later he flew off! I was so happy it actually worked.
I love that. :-)
And interestingly enough, a link on Morgan Freeman raising bees turned up on my Twitter feed! An old article, but nonetheless, kind of cool.
