I like all of these words, but particularly moonglade. I love it when the moon sets over the ocean and casts it’s light over the shimmering water. But I never knew what to call it.

Ottmar, I really enjoy all your writing. You are definitely gifted with how you use words as well as with your music.

    Peace and Love!

A long-time paralian, accustomed to lazy afternoons swimming and apricating, for a change she accepted a friend’s offer to use his lake cottage in woodsy Saugatuk, Michigan. After a long flight from California, a complicated drive to the cottage from the Chicago airport, and a search for a grocery store to stock up for her month-long stay, she finally arrived at the adorable little house set in the magnificent frondescence of gorgeous, towering trees. She brought along her bassoon and several pieces of music to learn for the upcoming season of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, where she proudly held the position of First Chair Bassoonist. And she was determined to learn the Vivaldi Bassoon Concerto in F Major in hopes of performing it with the Philharmonic next season.

She stowed her groceries and relaxed on the large screened-in porch, relishing the fresh fragrance of the woods. She enjoyed a bowl of mushroom soup and then decided to venture the few feet down to the lake. The full moon was already high in the sky. From the comfy bench swing on the lake’s edge, she listened to the delightful psithurism and quietly watched the moonglade.

Completely at peace, she happily tucked herself into the huge bed fitted with luxurious pillows and comforter. Drifting in and out of sleep, she was startled by footsteps near the bedroom window. Heart racing, she peeked out and shined her flashlight on the sweetest little noctivagant deer scavenging for food. He was not frightened, and she softly bid him goodnight, her heart full of joy. It was going to be a wonderful month in Saugatuk.
