Very cool.

Daisugi: Creating a Tree Platform for Other Trees:

Sometime in 15th century Japan, a horticulture technique called daisugi was developed in Kyoto. Written as 台杉 and literally meaning platform cedar, the technique resulted in a tree that resembled an open palm with multiple trees growing out if it, perfectly vertical.

This is very cool Ottmar! Like natural living art. I have always loved bonsai trees too. Such graceful lines. I once went to a bonsai garden in Bali and they had some amazing trees.

    Totally ingenious!!!
I have to check it out next time I visit Kyoto.
