On this day in 1930 André Gide wrote in his diary:

It requires great effort to convince myself that I am now as old as those who seemed to me so old when I was young.

    Oh my, how very true that is. My Mom was 66 when she died. I’m 73 and there’s no way I could imagine her being younger than I am.
    I wonder why I didn’t order that book when you mentioned it before. Well, I will this time. Thank you.
