I did not sleep much last night. The bus hit a deer around 4AM – actually the deer was hit by a car ahead and was then bounced into our path – and you cannot swerve a 45 foot bus going full speed… I am sorry, dear deer.

The mechanics at the Petro truckstop wouldn’t work on the bus, but a kind trucker helped us limp to a garage on a dirt road, where a proper plug was inserted into the air-hose. It took until almost 9:30AM to get going again. In the meantime plans were changed and our engineer Alan is taking the gear, which we were supposed to pick up this morning, from Delicate to Newport Beach in a rental truck.
