Social music site Last.fm has been bought by US media giant CBS Corporation for $280m (£140m), the largest-ever UK Web 2.0 acquisition.

Feedburner was bought by Google.

    Oooooh boy. I really hope these are just ways from CBS and eBay to make money and nothing more. last.fm especially…it’s a fantastic service, and its staff built it from the ground up and does a great job of maintaining it.
