An image from my morning walk.
Listened to a podcast about attention that I thought was brilliant. Lots of food for thought.
Yesterday I finished reading Their Eyes Were Watching God, a beautiful novel by Zora Neale Hurston. It has the kind of sentences that prompt a sharp intake of breath and putting down of the book for a moment of reflection.

Check out this amazing photo of shadows in the desert. In fact, the whole website of the photographer Georg Steinmetz is full of spectacular images!

Ottmar, what a scrumptious photo, with the fabulous exaggerated leaf shadows trying to break free to experience the sensual texture of that beautiful wall!

But that podcast you linked! I felt the knots that are choking and smothering my very life were spread out, examined, and untangled so that I can break free! I hope everyone listens.

I ordered his other book called LOST FOCUS which was also listed as STOLEN FOCUS, cause you know I couldn’t wait for the one on pre-order. :-)

yep- amazing photo’s tks for sharing. Good podcast too

the podcast reminds me about different listening styles – 1. reactive “already” listening; Listening about and 2. Proactive “generated” listening; Listening for.

For example – reactive listening ; agree/disagree, what’s the point, whats the answer , how can i fix it, find the fault , I already know, , etc

    vs.
    Generated – listening for-
alignment, coordinated action , mutual appreciation and respect, shared understanding ….holding space …
    it’s a deeper listening
