My favorite Twitter thread at the moment, on this election day, is by a person who calls themselves Gathara, posting from Nairobi – Cartoonist, writer, columnist, student and commentator on Kenya and international affairs. It’s an African perspective on this US Election, written in the manner of European or American news reports from Africa. It’s very funny because most of it rings so true. :-)
#BREAKING African envoys have called for Americans to maintain peace during the elections and to be prepared accept the outcome of the vote. In a joint statement , the diplomats condemned recent incidents of incitement, violence and intimidation directed at opposition supporters
Oh yes! I appreciate Africa and the entire globe. I can feel they hope we make it today! Love must prevail, even if there are shadows.
I just saw all the presidential election concession speeches of our era. All who lost their hard-fought elections praised the American democratic process and wished the newly elected president well. I do love America! We can solve our many problems. We are still here!
OK. I finally read this “funny” Twitter feed. I get the irony. Ha ha ha. Today, Nov 4, I feel doomed, on the verge of expatriating – Panama? Portugal? Ecuador?
Ouch
What’s the matter?
