They say the devil is in the details…

The sandal on the right is very comfortable but the suede is soft and gives in to gravity. It makes me fumble when I try to slip them on to walk off the stage. I guess I shall go back to the sturdier leather.

People have no idea what problems plague those who perform barefooted!

I happen to adore a pair of house slippers, which I memorialized on FaceBook. Oh. They were a fuzzy, soft dark purple with a shiny silver crescent moon on the right shoe and several shiny silver stars on the left! But the soft soles finally wore out. I keep them in my closet where I can see them every night. : )

I have a pair of Birkenstocks that are … hmm … must be … 30 – 40 years old (did you know Birkenstock will resole these?). I think I got mine just out of high-school. Still just fine, nice leather: no need to replace ’em. Still wear ’em half of every year. My signal to stop wearing ’em is the first snow, and the signal to start wearing em again is when the crocus come up …

Wow, I didn’t know that Birkenstock can resole them. I assume there is a corner on their website dedicated to this?

Well, I dunno about Birkenstock themselves, but they have “Authorized Birkenstock Repair” places … the one I have gone to is in Boulder, CO, but they also have one in Denver too (never been there).

I am getting hopeful…maybe that nice shoe repair shop near me could help my dear slippers!

I don’t talk to men who wear Birkenstock! That’s basically the whole Santa Fe and the old Cambridge ☺️
