I read “Confessions of an Atheist Buddhist” by Stephen Batchelor in Europe and loved it. I think it’s an important work as it pulls together Batchelor’s research into the life of the historic Gaumata Buddha and the original Pali texts with modern European (Western) views, especially the modern philosophers. Excellent and highly recommended!

Am currently reading “At Home: A Short History of Private Life” by Bill Bryson. Another fine book by Bryson, and also highly recommended.

Confessions was so good I’m starting to re-read it.

Bryson is fantastic – clever and funny, well-written, and can write about a huge variety of subjects.
