Voices

I noticed, flying from Milan to New York, that the airline’s instructional video used a male voice speaking Italian and a female voice speaking American-English. Flying in and out of Canada the French-Candian voice was male and the American-English voice was again female. I imagine a lot of research is done to figure out whether a male or a female voice is more effective in controlling crowds or delivering information. What is your experience with other languages?

Living in Texas, many businesses with recorded customer service phone systems have options for English and Spanish. Most of the ones I have noticed use female voices for both languages though there are a few that use male voices.
