Woke up @ 7:30am as usual, turned around + slept a little more, got up B4 nine. Took a shower + made some green T. Began 2 design a T road case. Decided we shoudn’t go out opening 4 Michael Bolton this summer. We have a company 2 run, salaries 2 pay, mouths 2 feed, a studio 2 equip + a live CD 2 record, mix, master + deliver by September 1st. And listening to Bolt-on nightly would probably kill me.

So fun to read! And interesting that you decided against touring with Bolton regarding the financial question. So it wouldn’t have paid out more going on tour with him?

Fantastic live album you put together back then! So from a fan’s point of view a very good decision you made…

Boris – one doesn’t make much money as an opening act. One gets to tap into the market/audience of the headliner and because of that exposure the pay usually sucks.

Stephen – I won a $20 bet that year, because I announced the VH-1 top ten one time and called him Bolt-on on the air… not very mature, but fun. :)

That’s a relief for those of us who were thinking you were putting in a 30 hour day. And as for opening for anyone…yours is the music one wants to leave with every bit still inside.
and thanks for mentioning tea. I’ve been drinking coffee so much I about forgot how good Pouchong is in the morning.

TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, I LOVE HIS MUSIC. I DO . I AM A MICHAEL
BOLTON FAN. FOR MY MONEY, I DON’T THINK IT GETS ANY BETTER THAN WHEN HE
SINGS WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN.

    BOB PORTER
I mean you must really love his music.

    MICHAEL
Yeah. Yeah…he, he, he’s pretty, he’s pretty good, I guess.

    BOB SLYDELL
You’re GOD DAMN right he is.

    BOB PORTER
So tell me. What’s your favorite song of his?

    MICHAEL
    Hmm. I, I, I don’t know. I mean, I guess, I sorta like ’em all.

    The Bobs laugh.

    BOB SLYDELL
HA HA! I feel the exact same way, but it must be hard for you, I mean,
having the same name as him. I celebrate the guy’s entire catalogue.
But anyway, let’s get down to business, Michael!

    MICHAEL
You, you know, you can just call me Mike.

Well, somewhere in the studio is probably an old VHS tape with the VH1 show I mentioned. The question is whether I can get motivated to digitize the tape and put it on YouTube….

I think it was around ’93, when Michael Bolton toured Australia. One of his songs “Said I love you but I lied” was constantly killing the airways.
One morning on my way to work I was listening to the radio, 2 DAYFM’s morning crew (the old crew). Wendy Harmer said this about the song ” hmm said I love you but I lied. The boy cannot be trusted”.
