The Rapid City Journal
Opposition to a new law prohibiting most abortions in South Dakota is strongest in the Black Hills and on the West River prairie, according to a statewide poll that shows a majority of South Dakotans would vote to overturn the law.

Statewide, 57 percent of 630 registered voters responding to the March 9-12 telephone survey said they would vote to repeal HB1215, which was overwhelmingly approved by the state Legislature and signed by Gov. Mike Rounds. Thirty-six percent said they would vote to uphold the new law.

But in the Black Hills, 67 percent said they would vote against the law, and 24 percent would vote for it. And on the West River prairie, 63 percent would vote to rescind the law and 32 percent would vote to maintain it.

It appears politicians are out of touch… and the people of South Dakota aren’t as crazy as one might have assumed!
