On to more important matters. Silence: no more longing is some of your best work. If I may ask – do I detect a capo on the first fret? My personal experimentation is leaning that way.

No capo. I don’t use a capo very often. A lot of guitarists use a capo on the first fret not because of the sound, but because their guitars are easier to play that way. My DeVoe seems to play perfect w/o a capo and I do love the sound of the open strings. I thank you for saying that it some of my best work. Everything points to this moment and I do think that everything I have learned from the guitar is pointing to NOW. I have three songs composed for the next album, up close, and I am in love with them. I play them over and over. What is different from my usual M.O. is that I am perfecting them before I record them. Usually I make stuff up while I am recording, but this time I will start recording with a composed piece in my head. I have a killer new tangos piece that has gone through several major revisions already… but I think I might start recording it next week because I can’t wait to hear it with the bass and percussion. All of the pieces will certainly still go through changes in the studio, but I am starting with a very nice framework.

By capo we mean this, and not this, or this… by the way, I use the capo pictured at the top right of the wikipedia entry…

    O.k., I have a dumb question …what’s a capo?

Not a dumb question! It’s a little metal or rubber(usually) bar you can strap to your guitar that lays across all the strings on one of the frets, allowing you to do interesting little things you normally couldn’t–namely because hitting an open string with a capo on will produce a higher note. So, it allows all sorts of new chord possibilities that would normally be impossible (or at least require Voldemort-length fingers!).

You see? THIS would make great video material for the LL! Watching/listening/learning your creation process would be invaluable to a guy like me. I could actually be a “fly on the wall” in your studio and experience how a song like La Luna goes from an initial melody or cajon track to the finished result!
