Quicksilver

After using Tiger’s Spotlight for a few days, I have installed the new Tiger-build of Quicksilver.

Quicksilver is so much faster than Spotlight if you know what you are looking for. If I want to launch an app or a specific song on iTunes or a specific document, Quicksilver is a rocket. I am thinking that the two approaches work side by side and are not mutually exclusive. In other words, launch specific items with Quicksilver and do searches with Spotlight.

Now if I could get a plug-in for Quicksilver to trigger Spotlight searches……….

There is a spotlight plug-in for quicksilver. It allows you to
trigger spotlight searches, and browse “smart folders”

You need to enable advanced features (beta level) to use
    it.
