Opium Chair

Listen up, friends! I am getting rid of unnecessary stuff in the studio and you can bid on this lovely chair, made from an antique wool rug by Seret and Sons in Santa Fe and used for the Wide-eyed + Dreaming (Opium) tour in 1996. You can see more of this chair in this video. The winning bid will be donated to the Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center. I think I paid around $500 for the chair – so let’s start the bidding at $200 for the SFRCC plus the shipping cost to be determined. Please email your bid to ottmar (at) gmail (dot) com

How long will the auction be open? Will you keep bidders appraised of the current high bid or will it be totally silent?

$200? Well, I’m out already, then–but I guess I wouldn’t have bid, anyhow, it’s not something I REALLY want, I’d feel terrible getting it instead of someone like Matt, or Victor, or Carol, just because I spent more money. And that’s a great cause, too! This, the Santa Fe College, you’re quite the philanthropist lately :) (Is that the word? Philanthropist?)

I too wish I could bid, but one more chair in this house or shed…well you know that saying…’the feather that…’ Darn good donation!!!

Oh sure, you can get the video at Netflix and I’m a member of Blockbuster! (Story of my… never mind.)

Ottmar, how about throwing in a signed copy of the video?!

That’s interesting , Adam. I was just saying how I am not worthy to own that chair. It should go to some rising guitar player. But we sure would like a chance to sit in it for a minute wouldn’t we, Adam :)

Panj, the feathers quote reminds me of the first time my little grandson heard the tale about the straw that broke the camel’s back. He, as most children are, was quite literate.”Oh,that poor camel. That was so mean.”

Can you give us a hint here as soon as you offer items at ebay for I don’t check the US-version of it regularly?
